He was a songwriter, composer and lyricist who wrote such songs as "Miss Marmelstein", "Who Knows?", "Wish You Were Here", "Wonderful Things", "Little Fishes", "Goin' Home", 'Military Life", "(All of a Sudden) My Heart Sings", "United Nations on the March", "Horror Boys of Hollywood" and "Franklin D. Roosevelt Jones". As well, he worked on such Broadway productions as "Pins and Needles", "Fanny", "Destry Rides Again", "I Can Get It For You Wholesale" and "The Zulu and the Zayda". He died of a stroke.
